Welcome—I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m Donna Schilling, a lifelong poet who has always found words to be the most natural way to express what the heart holds. As an introvert, poetry became my voice—capturing joy, love, grief, and the quiet, in-between moments that are often hardest to say out loud.

What began as a personal outlet gradually became something more. I started writing playful, rhyming birthday poems for family and friends, then deeply personal pieces for those I loved who were in distress—words that brought laughter, comfort, and connection. Over time, I realized these weren’t just poems… they were meaningful little treasures, keepsakes of the heart. That realization shaped what I do today.

Each poem I create is written with the intention of helping people express what matters most—whether it’s celebrating love, honoring a life, or finding peace in moments of loss. My work is designed to be felt, remembered, and returned to—something you can hold onto long after the moment has passed.

Since opening in the summer of 2022, I’ve been honored to share my poetry with people around the world—England, Australia, Ireland, Canada and more. What has meant the most are the messages from those who have found comfort and healing in my grief poetry. Those heartfelt connections inspired me to create this space—Whispering Wind Poetry—a place where words can gently reach those who need them most.
